Generally, new ideas supported by 10+ votes will take my attention. Please don’t post bug report here, especially the nightly glitches. Report it at https://github.com/ithinc/tabutils/issues instead.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Setting maximum number of rows at multiple-rows

It would be great if one could limit the number of displayed tab-rows. If that is overrun, the rows should be scrollable (scrollbar/mousewheel) - like in TMP. Would be awesome!

    • Multi-row pinned tabs

      Hello,
it would be nice if we could have, with vertical tab bar, multi-row pinned tabs, instead of having tabs which widen indefinitely
      thanks in advance...

      • Sync Tab Utilities Settings using Firefox Sync

Firefox now allows addons to sync their settings using the prefix "services.sync.prefs.sync.browser". In addition, Firefox 11 will allow for Addons Sync (but no settings sync as of now). Settings sync will depend on individual Addons developer, who will need to provide it as an option. Adblock Plus, Flashblock etc. have this option already. Given the really customizable nature of Tab Utilities, I think it will really help the users if the Settings can be synced across browsers.

        Thanks.

        • Option to start with Firefox's default behavior

This addon seems to provide a lot of useful functionality. But when I install it as a new user, too many settings are changed from Firefox's default behavior. Even if I select the default behavior settings, they differ a lot from Firefox's default settings (that would be the item which I would expect to do what I like).

So, my intention is to install the addon and nothing changes at first. And then I apply setting by setting until I have exactly the behavior at first. Currently I would have to change the settings which I don't like, which IMO…

          • Create a help file (or PDF) that explains what all the option Tab Utilities options do.

I don't know if the tab Utilities is working right or not since I do not know what it is supposed to with an explanation of the options.

              Hi.
I would like to see a progress meter on the edge of the tab, just like that of Maxthon tabs.

I would like to use the mouse scroll wheel in the tab bar to switch tab groups (not tabs).

                • Add possibility to change the crtl+arrow shortcut to crtl+alt+arrow

This would be a very nice feature since crtl+arrow is used to fast navigate though a text.

                  • Always leave one non-pinned tab open

When not using pinned app tabs, it is possible to always leave one tab open. When closing this last tab, it stays open but changes to what you have defined as "load in new tab".

When using pinned tabs, and the last non-pinned tab is closed, I would like this non-pinned tab to also stay open and change to what is specified as "load as new tab", rather than closing and just leaving the pinned tabs.

In other words, I would like to always have one non-pinned tab open in addition to whatever tabs are pinned.

                    Thanks for considering.

This allows us to move them wherever we want them.
Moreover, their corresponding show/hide checkboxes wont be needed anymore.

                        • When closing window with last tab, switch to a new tab before closing

When closing window with last tab, switch to a blank tab before closing.
Otherwise the browser remembers the session and restores it after the next startup. (last closed tab, which is no needed).

                              Hello,

Would it be possible to add an option to put close button on left of each tab, please (to match Ubuntu or Mac uses where close buttons for applications are on left side) ?

                              Thanks for your extension !

                              • Feature I've always wanted: auto-group related tabs

I'm not talking about the useless graphical "tab groups" feature, but simply sorting the order of the tabs to group all the tabs that are on the same first-level domain -- so if one has multiple Facebook tabs open, they would be placed adjacent to each other, all open Yahoo tabs would be together, etc. Basically just sort the tabs alphabetically based on the first-level domain.

A secondary sort key could be the second-level domain -- e.g. not only would all open "microsoft.com" tabs be grouped together, but within those, all the "support.microsoft.com" tabs would be adjacent.

                                      • Reload tab needs to take into account user activitly.

Many pages have forms or other user data input.

Various Tab reload functions I've tried seem to just refresh the page on a timer and don't care that I'm in the middle of filling out a form. The page reloads and I've just lost my half filled out form.

I'd love if tab utilities would change its reload function to take into account user activity. All it needs to do is reset its countdown timer each time it detects a mouse click or key press when the user is actively working on the page.

Users that use it as is…

                                        • Option to switch to next loaded tab on current tab close

Add an option to force the selected tab to skip to the next loaded tab when the current one is closed, instead of potentially loading an adjacent but currently unwanted tab.
It would be wonderful if you could also force the selected tab to skip to a parent tab and only then to right/left/unloaded, if using Tree Style Tab.
